I knew you had made up your mind from the get go, despite all evidence form all investigatory commissions, including McNanamara's conclusion, and Reagan's decision that there was nothing further to investigate. McNamara and Reagan are men of unquestioned integrity--I cannot say the same of you. The repulsion is mutual.

As far as the sailors, they are brave men. Brave men in battle make mistakes; that's why we took 23,000 friendly fire casualties in Vietnam. If I were to list all the friendly fire deaths in which a clearly identified American was killed by another American accidentally, it would fill several volunmes. However, if any of the accidental shootings were done by a Jewish soldier, I am sure you would circle the name and write "INTENTIONAL" in the margin.
