But semi...VIA has a P4 license through S3. The VIA P4 DDR chipset has VIA/S3 printed right on it. LOL

VIA has a License? Says Who?? You?? VIA?? intel says different. I'm willing to let the courts decide. I saw what happened to the same issue with P3/VIA Licensing. I have no doubt that the same thing will happen with P4.

But you didn't address that issue. All you did was criticize intel for asserting their rights. VIA had an opportunity to buy a license, they said they don't need one, intel says they do.

Vendors don't have to use i850 or i845, plenty of them (with licenses) are developing (and already selling) their own P4 chipsets. I hope VIA is real happy "giving intel the finger". In the meantime, SIS, and all the other vendors with a P4 License are going to run right past them.

Who's really the stupid one here.. Looks to me like VIA. I'm guessing their CEO must have taken management lessons from the Jerry Sanders... "Let's Try And Screw Intel No Matter What" school of management.

Brilliant....

:-)
