The images of those planes and towers are still fresh, and we'll see reruns of them for sure ... they form good reason for rooting out terrorism though doing so will certainly have a cost ... no such reason existed for US involvement in, for example, Viet Nam, so a parallel in re video-inspired squeamishness is less likely imho ... i would expect that the cost ratchetting up would have the effect of firming resolve to deal with the problem ..... though there may come criticism of tactics
