What difference does it make how high a stock goes?

Shorters always use that "we're keeping things from becoming overvalued", story.
(It's really a crock, a stock is worth what people will pay for it, no more no less)

Besides, I don't remember reading anywhere that shorters were given the divine right to decide when that occurred.

The market will decide that, with or without shorters.

I wish the shorters would cut out all the self serving propaganda, and just admit that they're not doing it for any other reason than the truth...and that's to make money. They don't care about liquidity, they don't care about protecting the public, they don't care about the ying and yang of it.

Of course if they did that, then maybe people could analyze the situation properly, and come to a proper conclusion about whether or not it really is a good thing or not, which may not turn out to be the conclusion they want.

As far as I know, we've never had it where there was no shorting, so there's no way to compare things to see what the actual effects would be.
