Message from russwinter... very confused... US in Canada.
Russ,
If you is confused, then i'm totally lost up creek wo/ paddle :o)
But then without using the subjective words like agenda or manipulation, might one's objective be the deciding factor that could lead one to accept less than favorable conditions to trade from usa into Canada?
For sure making money is the bottom line eventhought one has the inclination to skip any procedure that will deliver this if it also contains a factor where those you need to carry out the transaction will take more than their fair share. Sure, but looking beyond that one can agree that corruption exist in many places we all have to engage to receive food water shelter etc, and its a constant battle to keep babble babble babble from my typing.
ok, sorry and let me give an example instead using my favorite person.
Yesssssssssssssss its Bob Johnson aTime.
As Bob mentioned that he uses food coupons and if i remember correctly he once posted to me on the GPM thread back when the on topic was about gold monitoring that he once purchased $3,500.00 worth of junk food stuff using coupons worth $3,499.99 :o)
ok, i do agree with readers that i have totally lost focus.
"... seems to be only one way to go. Use a US broker that has a Canadian desk (like Greenline), and just suck it up on the commissions. The bulletin board most of the time is too thin."
Recently i checked out a few days posting on those threads that Zeev Hed is on and was taken aback in that it looked like a conversation between day traders extending their buys and sells from a single day to a few days. Things like up one dollar and take profits and etc.
Not here is it like that, as here its buying to make money yes, but its buying more in a hold'ing approach to make bigger money than a simple one buck up and sell.
Of course those like Zeev might have big pockets and buy a few dozen of those Buffet Berkshire and unload for a quick thousand.
But here, especially for me with the pennies, its buy at a 5 cents and sell at 50 or 500 or 5,000 cents, which means to me that if the commission jacks up the purchase 20% like 6 cents rather than 5 cents, then its not relevant for a successful investment.
Guess a 20% plus or minus in an IBM is a biggie to them over on those other threads, but really not here especially for shares under a dollar.
Example, and a real one.
I'm gonna sell some of my xxxx at $0.20 so that i can buy more of my yyyy at $0.025 as its easy for either to double or more or collapse completely buy 5 xxxx for a buck comparied to 40 yyyy for a buck or a simple 1 to 8 conversion which makes sense once nonsense replaces sense which is required thinking in these pennies but for most all on this thread its not pennies except for rare cases like i believe gold_tutor and another has a secret example but over or close to a dollar leaves my arena of play/gamble especially those 5 to 20 dollars as they are more like those other threads Zeev is on but over there its higher volumn trading in and out and in... here its more short or longer term investment styles based not on today and tomorrow with next week long term, but really Buffet know the company and that TA FA (sic) ok not sure if i'm done typing in this post not sure what i first wanted to say infact i cannot remember why i replied to ??? ok, scroll up and look (excuse me for a second as i look) ok, 2/3 of my pennies are in Canada and i'm in usa and i was only able to do my buys if and only if those usa letters existed on E*trade sooooooooooo no problem with commissions being 10% over or even 25% over especially with the fake strength of usa dollar to Canadian dollar as already me using my usa dollar to but Canadian is a ripe off as i'm getting more than i should in the conversion but even if that was not the case if i'm in the usa and i know of a good stock in Canada then if i'm in it for a quick day trade of low 5% then sure, i'm not in the game but if i'm in it for a double, then yes but then maybe all one has to figure out is the share price and what i want to sell later at, if it makes any ripe off commission like an extra $50 not a factor in the buy/sell bottom line, like maybe the commission is 35% too much, but its only 3.5% of the final bottom line, and if so, use whats available to get the trades done just so you make money as gotta trade to win or lose
