Look, even the most mundane of life's event's could be and almost certainly are the results of an infinite series of probabilistic events. Think of it as infinite Markov chains. The universe is 'complex' (in all of its meanings.)
Example: You are golfing buddies with my future, but as yet unrealized, boss. Let's say you determine that I'm a genius and really want to convince your buddy to hire me. What are the chances of that? Right now, close to zero. If I post my honest thoughts on the Internet, reveal my exact identity, I could significantly risk my career if you took a disliking to me or my ideas. Because I post under the humble moniker 'cosmicforce' ('humbly' lowercase, one word) I am certainly less likely to suffer such a fate. If I was to provide a link to my resume:
cosmicforce.com
which had a full bio, picture, and company name, how does that change my odds of such a 'fortunate outcome'? I don't think you have to be an applied mathematician to surmise that I've just changed not only the probability, but the underlying wavefunction that describes "reality". The more distant upstream in this chain of contingent realities I act, the more leverage a small (maybe even really, really, really, small) event can have, and the more likely it can be to produce an outcome. That change of future probability by past events is by definition, "intelligence". |
