Karachi, Sep 28 (NNN) : Saudi rebel Osama bin Laden has said American freeze on his bank accounts and those of his Al-Qaeda network will have no effect on his functioning.

The Urdu-language Pakistan newspaper Ummat claimed that in an interview, Laden has said,"It will not make any difference."

"By the grace of God, al-Qaeda has more then three different alternative financial networks," the paper quoted Laden as saying, adding, "It is being run around the world by well-educated youth. We do not have a few hundred or a few thousand but hundreds and thousands of highly educated youth, who were well aware of all these things and know the alternatives."

The paper claimed it had sent its questions to Laden and received written responses through Taleban officials.

Earlier this week, US President George Bush, in an executive order, ordered a freeze on the assets of all the individuals and groups and instructed authorities to freeze the US assets of any foreign banks not complying with the order.
