Look to Israel. It doesn't work Jay.

Look to all autocrats (Marcos, Suharto and that Malaysia guy) that were created to protect US interests. It didn't work either.

IT will arm countries for them to opress their own people or the immediate neighbors.

What we really need is a dillution of power. As much as we need a dillution of capital. Power and capital spread more evenly over the geographic landscape.

A too powerfull country like the US is not good. (Only good for bellicose fat cat).

As for defense Western Europe is tottaly secure. By power? No. By ties binding them economically to many countries. Siemens, Ericsson, ABB, Nestle, Philips, VW, Alsthom, Alcatel, GEC, and all those banks. Arm twsiting people around is no good for business.

Europe can't afford printing US dollar to prop business that go down in a 'tour de force'.
