OT - CRLF

CR = carriage return
LF = line feed

Very similar in their function even though they appear in different ways for different OSes. Basically its the invisible return character at the end of a line.

Anyway... the reason he asked you
to do this
is he must have a very small
screen resolution
(640x480) and so the article
you copied and
pasted ended up looking like
this on his screen.

If your screen resolution is large enough you wouldn't even have noticed the problem since the line feeds would have happened in natural places. But if you go back to the post in question and make your browser small enough you will see it the way he did.

However, I think that doing what he wants is often troublesome. But if you want to go to the trouble... the way to do it is to comb through your text and reformat it by hand (bleah) or use an intelligent text editor to do it... Like I said too troublesome IMHO.

Another quasi solution would be to use the 'use fixed font' checkbox when posting something with linefeeds. Problem with this one is the text will just scroll off the screen for him then... ah well... at least it makes a balance sheet easier to read.

cAPS
