I know of a happily married couple (a Sikh man and a Moslem woman) living next door to me. Not allowed to marry by their respective staunchly Sikh and Moslem families, they eloped to Canada. They are now retired. The man was an engineer and his wife a teacher. They have four grown up children and they allowed them to adopt whatever religion suits them. None of the children embraced Sikhism or Islam. The whole family coexist peacefully. Islam is "the religion of the sword" but I think that is for the "purists" or extremists.
