P4 performance, especially the "latest and greatest" systems with 845 and SDRAM have horrible performance. Any attention brought to the issue will devastate Intel sales and reputation. I think the very conservative nature of AMD's ratings are a sort of booby trap to try to get Intel spend enough on advertising the issue so that consumers will investigate the question. AMD can't afford enough advertising to make it an issue, but Intel can. Jerry is saying, "go ahead, advertise it and make my day."
