Just wanted to inject a few thoughts.
As the horror of the 9/11 tragedy begins to fade, and the visibility of the perpetrators is increased, we as a nation are pulling together to steel our resolve for the future. We are not going to accept a world in which angry, sandal footed gangs of evil doers hold us hostage to our fears. We have already shed our utter disbelief in favor of new awareness of the evil among us. We have gathered the resources of the Free World, and have built our own anti-terrorist infrastructure to oppose the terrorist infrastructure of the enemy.
A giant lens of public awareness and overt hostile engagement has turned toward an enemy who, until now, had been playing their evil games of destruction in the shadows of public apathy. But, no more!
Rule 1: Know Thine Enemy It is an organization; not a person. Those who support the organization are part of the organization. It is an organization to destroy families in Afghanistan, creating male orphans for recruiting into suicidal missions. It is an organization to exploit the resources of the Afghan people, poor as they are, to serve the objectives of evil, power hungry men. It is an organization to exploit the underpinnings of a religion, twisting all words into enigmatic phrases in support of the acts of incarnate evil. But most importantly, it is an organization with no other defined objective except to destroy, and in this truth lies the proof of its evil nature.
Rule 2: Form a Perimeter We cannot afford to make a mistake here. The cost is too great. As long as there is an enemy among us, we must take whatever steps are necessary to identify and isolate that enemy from our midst. The concern for racial profiling has to take a back seat to the concern for public safety. IT HAS TO! While the majority of Muslims hate the terrorists, it is none the less in the Muslim world, and only in the Muslim world, in which we will find the enemies in our midst. That FACT calls for cooperation from Muslims everywhere, and a lack of cooperation calls ones alignment into question.
Open lines of communication between our law enforcement people and the the people of the Muslim faith must be volunteered. Open communication with authorities, under these trying circumstances, is the hallmark of trustworthiness.
Rule 3: Weep not for evil As the enemy in this conflict is identified and targeted ... as the sources of their funding is reduced and it becomes more difficult for their organization to carry out their objectives ... they will cry foul. They will claim they are being singled out for slaughter. They will claim the forces of evil are in us.
It's not. As we seek their destruction, we must never forget that they sought only our destruction at a time when we didn't even know who they were. We must never forget the young ladies who's throats were cut by these gangs who brought this fight to us. We must never forget the hundreds of men and women who trustingly got on the 4 planes with these maleficent- tribesmen only to be brought to their death. And, we MUST NOT FORGET the thousands of individuals, men women and children, who died in the WTC at the hands of these satanist practitioners of evil, concealed in the cloak of Muslim religion!
