Hi Alexa!
We're back and I now know way too much about college applications and requirements. It was a hair-raising experience. The cost phenomenal, the admission requirements--well-when kids with 1500 on their SATs, fantastic grades, and an amazing assortment of extracurricular activities are considered "just normal, good kids", it's pretty confusing. What does one do to be considered outstanding? Where are these kids coming from? Where does a "normal" kid turn? And the financial scholarships are based primarily on need-so you may as well count on spending 120,000 if you want to go the private school route. Well-I'm rambling- We went to UVa, W&L and University of Richmond, probably three of the most beautiful campuses in the country. Although all CW wanted to see were the computer labs and the swimming pools. Is anyone else going through this---or are all of you just going to watch me have a nervous breakdown and learn vicariously before yours reach this age? MIKE S????
