I prefer to tag the adjectives like "militaristic", "violent" etc onto the society, not onto a nation. US society violent? No, I would not say even that, because the averages (suicide rates, murder rates, abortions etc etc) are just averages. Look at death penalty executions (TX vs say VT ;-ß)

Here a question for CB: according to my sources there's a fast-track bill being cooked up by a republican lobby to cut military or whatever aid to any state (*) that is supporting the project/idea/regulations of the international court. The intentions of the process, supported actively by EU, is to give the internationally agreed upon legislation (for instance crimes against humanity, like Balkans, Ruanda, anti terror laws etc) a permanent iudicial system. In other words make the Hague court a permanent one.

My reaction to the idea of that bill was: Huh?!.... "We like justice (infinite justice for instance), BUT it better be OUR justice". Like "God bless America" - the rest of the world can pick the finger.

*: well, excluding NATO, but the writing is on the wall
