To All, College football musings. Kansas State and Oklahoma was fun. It wasn't great football, but it was fun. I have a rooting interest for OU, though neither I nor any relatives went to that school. My mother was born in Oklahoma and everyone in the San Joaquin Valley was very sensitive to "dumb Okie" as a swear word. My Grandmother was also born in Oklahoma, though her part was Indian Territory back then, or IT, on her birth certificate, which I always thought was cool. As a young child, she forced me to root for Bud Wilkenson and the Sooners.
O.K., I also like Kansas State from having lived in Kansas City and its proximity.
A good game. OU looked awesome, but K-State kept fighting back, shooting themselves in the foot several times along the way.
However, it is tough to really get into a game without hating one of the teams. That is why I enjoyed Texas A&Ms victory so much. One thing for certain, Notre Dame is going to be rough on weaker opponents the rest of the year, rolling up the score to make up for the first three humiliations to their reputation.
BTW, I only hate teams with great records: Notre Dame, Alabama, the Yankees, the Dallas Cow Kissers football team. It is almost a compliment when I hate somebody who beats up on my favorites.
Florida looked like a decent team. I have never hated them before, but I may have to start. <VBG> |
