I totally disagree. You can look at this another way.
Those who believe this life is all we have, have a huge incentive to make this life as much as a heaven on Earth as possible. After all, there isn't much to look forward- of a personal nature, after death. Those who believe in something after death can do all sorts of unpleasant things, and live in unpleasant ways, but as long as they do something special before they die (according to many religions) they will still get into heaven. So they can be very bad indeed, and redeem themselves at the last minute, so to speak, for the next life.
