Slider, -- I didn't even catch what country -- It sounds like the report I seen on 60 Minutes last Sunday night. The segment was about the psychology of a suicide bomber, and the stories focus was on two of the worlds leading experts on the subject, one was from Israel, the other was a Palestinian.

… they agreed …

The one common trait the bombers shared (knowing that his life was about to end) was feelings of calmness and euphoria. Once you’re chosen for a mission you are now considered dead, un fait accomplie. In the bombers mind it’s an unselfish preparation that creates the path that will lead you and your family out of poverty and to bring oneself closer to Allah. Which is why these terrorists can easily slip by airport security and live among the living undetected.

The crazy part was; these bombers weren't necessarily fanatical or even devoutly religious. It was more or less a duty for the hometown folks who are hoping for a better life -- while getting your 15 minutes of fame.

Regards
Frank P.
