95% of the NYSE daily volume is from traders and 5% is institutional. Short selling is a trading vehicle that has been present since the very beginning and provides LIQUIDITY. Without short sellers you couldn't buy sh*t without huge swings. It ain't going away. As far as gloating, the same crap went on in March 2000 when all who spoke negative about the market were flamed mercilessly. Get a grip. (~)^(~)
