Considering she's home right now, I think I'll reserve comment...
But suffice it to say, were we both Muslim, I probably wouldn't catch nearly the level of static from her as I do now... LOL!!!
But face some facts Addi... Both the Bible and Koran were written in ancient times when cultural values were far different than today. Were Moses, Muhammed, or Christ's apostles to have existed today and written those books and epistles, I'm sure they would have more greatly reflected today's cultural norms, rather that proposing values that existed in medieval times.
I generally look past the cultural legalisms that imply contemporary attitudes of the period, and look for the deeper spiritual message.
