My point was that if you pick a signal (any signal) that indicates a trend continuing or reversing BEFORE it actually happens, I can show you several false signals given by it.

Oh so true! To minimize false signals requires first knowing the principles and then a lot of time in chart reading to acquire the experience. And even that is no guarantee the move will pan out.

But at least you can expect that certain results should happen once you recognize a principle at work, which does give you advantage. Of course, in your plan should also be an exit if it doesn't.

All boils down to finding methods that put the odds in your favor. It's the best we can all hope for.
