Languages evolve as has ours.Your example is specious. We did not re-construct a language, our language evolved.

And just exactly what derivative of ancient Egyptian is spoken in that country today??

It sure sounds like Arabic to me.... an egyptian dialect of it, but definitely the language of one of its conquering rulers.

And before you try to claim that this dialect makes it distinctive, I would suggest that even in English we have dialects. In China, many people can't understand each other when speaking together, but they can read the same script. And the same has been the case throughout history, whether it be just the local jargon or slang that differentiates geographical or tribal differences.

As for the inquisition, my point WAS NOT to compare how badly the Catholics treated both muslims and jews, but to point out that muslims had historically been more tolerant toward jews than had christians.

And has been noted here, European crusaders were predominantly responsible for the genocide against the jews in Palestine, just as they were during WWII.

And if Europeans, who wrested away that land from the Ottoman Empire deemed it acceptable to give land to the Egyptians, as well as such entirely new political entities WITH NO HISTORICAL PRECEDENT, such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq, Syria, and Jordan, I don't see there being much credibility in the argument that Israel has no right to exist.

And given that, in shaping these various artifical Arab nations, the minorities were forcibly subjugated to the control of other Arabic ethnicities, the "plight" of the Palestinians hardly compares.

I still wonder why people like you have no compassion for the Sunni muslims of Syria, who have been repeatedly brutalized by the Alawite minority, but fling your hearts out to the Palestinians.

After all, in one brutal period in 1982, Hafez Assad killed 20,000 Sunnis and paved over their entire town.

Until you are willing to acknowledge and complain about the atrocities of the Arabs against their minorities, I see little reason to give your opinions any credibility.

You are obviously someone who possesses a particular hatred for the Israeli Jews... A VERY MISPLACED HATRED, I might add, given the political realities and choices in the region.
