"It is almost as if we are dealing with a different species in Afghanistan? After all they do live in mud huts and caves not unlike prehistoric Neandertals.

The general population is downtrodden beyond rebellion.
Poverty, lack of education and such makes them susceptible to occupation by international criminals and rapists.
Rhwanda....hundreds of thousands succumbed to death and dismemberment by machetes.
Somalia... warlords own and run the country.
Haiti...poverty ridden country overwhelmed and dominated by criminal elements.
Many many examples.
They MUST want to be freed and live a better life. I don't know that a broad sweep of the paintbrush is justified when describing general populations of a country.
If we never rise above our self-righteous observations and conclusions on "whats good for the world", what hope is there?
