This is where we differ -- it does matter what their crimes are. I imagine it doesn't matter to the Afghan's whose family members were killed by this man, what his story is now, but it does matter what he did to their family members.

I don't understand your last statement. To count human beings as less than human, is precisely what you propose in giving amnesty to a man who participated in the torture of innocents -- if in fact -- the story is true.

BTW -- When I saw this article -- I thought about posting it, but did not, because it looked like propaganda to me.
It's possible we are arguing over a fabrication, but suppose we are not --

Let's hear how you would stop this. Would it involve force? Would people be killed or even tried for crimes if they said it was all one big mistake and those bad guys made us do it?
