I see no lies at all. Feeling defensive?
I didn't call the sailors neo-nazis. I did make the general statement that neo-nazis and anti-zionists would never be satisfied by any evidence that exonerates Israel. They never will. Where's a lie in that?
As to three of the accusations you made against me, I have just shown that one is, at best, your misreading as to what I meant. As to the other two, now you backtrack, and admit I never said them, but that you were just using sarcasm. It sure didn't seem like sarcasm, and I understandably had a difficult time recognizing that you were being flippant about so serious a subject.
Yes--I did change my mind on how I viewed the situation after doing more thinking and reading. I listened to people's viewpoints, and rethought. Most people would view this as a virtue. I guess you live your life so that once you make up your mind, nothing can change it. I've shown more openmindedness than anyone on this thread, with a handful of exceptions.
So let's recap: I initially thought one thing; I read more, and now think another. Since none of us were there, none of us can "lie" about what happened, since all we have are testimonies from which to draw conclusions. McNamara & every investigatory panel say it was friendly fire. None of them say Israel did it intentionally. I come up with a theory that says Israel did it intentionally but had an excuse, but I get called a "liar" for taking a harsher position on what Israel did than the U.S. government has taken.
Very bizarre. Next Sunday Mass--pray for the wisdom that usually comes with old age. |
