Launch on warning was a secret that was hinted at and denied at the time the movie Fail Safe (and previous book) were released. The fact that much of it is still classified, means that YOU have no idea what you are talking about.

Up until relatively recently, boomer commanders had the ability to launch without warning as independent agents.
