Jim, <Seriously, Barrett was very phophetic about laying off 20k.> Craig Barrett really isn't the kind of guy who puts double-meanings into his words. The only thing he said was that Intel has fallen back to revenue levels of a few years ago, but the headcount is 20K higher. He never said anything about laying off those 20K heads. People try to read too much into his words. I suppose you can't blame them, either. After all, Barrett IS the head of the largest semiconductor corporation in the world. You'd think people would hinge off of his words a lot more than, say, some two-bit yapper like Jerry Sanders, no? ;-) Tenchusatsu P.S. - To those who think I am in denial, you can believe whatever you want. I won't care.
