He's had time. Put aside this season where the OL is obviously partially responsible. Any excuse used to justify Johnson's poor performance in previous years just doesn't hold. Flutie played with the same teammates last year and the year before. Fact is that Flutie won while Johnson continuously lost.

It is also possible that Johnson doesn't have the respect and the leadership to elevate the performance of his teammates. Flutie on the other hand is inspirational. His team plays hard every down for him.
