Probably all the info you need is here krugerrand.org Krugerrands are the world's most widely held gold bullion coins.More Krugerrands (46 million ounces) have been circulated worldwide than all other gold bullion coins combined. I like the Krugerrand because it has the lowest buy premium -- jeffinc.com for example is sometimes one percent over "melt" (if "melt" isn't the same as "spot", it's close enough for me) -- and the lowest spread between buy and sell of about two percent. I believe they are the most liquid as well.
