I have several friends who worked on Willamette. They can all testify to the fact that part of the P4 runs at 2x the speed.

I would think these people know more about its internals than you do. They are not "marketing morons" by any stretch of the imagination. But judging from your constant circumlocution, I think you'd qualify for that label.
