Haim, consider that the lecture was given in '98 - and i don't think it aims to justify terrorism. i also certainly don't agree with everything it implies, i merely wanted to illustrate what the other side in this conflict is thinking - and that is what the MODERATES are thinking.
one point made in the article is imo however both very interesting, and very true. the terrorist of today can easily morph into the 'freedom fighter' and head of state of tomorrow - just as the ally of yesterday can morph into the terrorist of today. WHO is called a terrorist depends really on whether he's engaging in 'good' or 'bad' terrorism, as the governments of the day interpret it according to their immediate strategic interests.
there can be of course no excuse for the killing of thousands of innocents, no matter what the cause.
