This increase is accomplished above and beyond the nearly twofold voice capacity improvement provided by third-generation (3G) CDMA2000 1X systems. The old 10:1 CDMA advantage is starting to look like 40:1. So, what's that going to do to GSM, GPRS and The Bleeding EDGE competitive position? Not to mention VW40 which is still in the ethereal phases. VW40 might have trouble keeping up, even if QUALCOMM works diligently to make it work as well as possible. With the Spotlight directional two-stick antennae to further improve capacity, the whole world's requirements will fit into a single 1.25MHz channel if this process continues.
