A lazy response: Do you think he didn't? Elected to four terms, so Americans at the time seemed to like him Led us, successfully, through the second world war, Truman dotting the i's and crossing the t's, no mean feat. Acted upon Hoover's apparent benign neglect of the economy and it victims in his efforts to rescue us from the depression. There's a legacy here worth noting, though I know that his new deal continues to reverberate and cause great consternation. I don't know. What do you think about him?
