Pretty bold statement here on gas rig counts:

"Concerns about the weakness of the U.S. economy, and secondarily international markets, are proving justified," said a research note form Geoff Kieburtz of Salomon Smith Barney.

Kieburtz expects the 2002 North American natural gas rig count to see a 28 percent year-over-year decline and that by the third quarter of 2002, the rig count will likely be at 500, down from nearly 1,000 currently.
