As a child, I was often reminded about where and who I came from. I was told about my great great great great...... grandfathers who both fought in the Revolutionary war. I was told about my great great great........ grandfathers who both fought in the civil war. Somehow my great great grandfathers avoided WWI but my dad was there in WWII.

I was given history by my Grandparents and my Parents. It seems like they talked about it all the time.

I don't remember ever studying war in school to any great degree.

I am a child of the 60s, and with all due respect, but maybe the young men and women today aren't being told about what it is to fight and sacrifice for their country because their parents fought the Vietnam war and no one wants to brag about that?

M

As a parent of two boys, I have proudly told my children about the wars their forefathers fought.
