Keith O'Connor, 28, Trader, Keefe Bruyette
New York, Oct. 2 (Bloomberg) -- Keith O'Connor, 28, trader, Keefe, Bruyette & Woods Inc.
After a jetliner crashed into the World Trade Center's north tower and before another struck the south tower, O'Connor talked to his wife, Sandra, by phone. He assured her he was well, and told her to call his parents, the Star-Ledger of Newark, New Jersey, reported.
``I hoped and prayed that he had evacuated, that he got below where the plane had crashed,'' his wife told the newspaper. ``Then I prayed that he got out before the building collapsed ... I stayed home and waited while friends and family went out looking for him.''
O'Connor, a resident of Hoboken, New Jersey, grew up in Hillside. The 6 foot 5 inch O'Connor played bagpipes since he was 8 years old, was a member of St. Columcille United Gaelic Pipe Band in Kearny, New Jersey, and performed in local parades, the Star-Ledger said.
In addition to his wife, O'Connor is survived by a 2-year-old daughter and his parents, Frank and Susan O'Connor of Hillside, New Jersey.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6. |
