Fujitsu to halt 3 chip plants for 5 days (FJTSY) By Bill Clifford Fujitsu will halt operations at three major chip-making factories in Japan for five days this month in order to further reduce output amid weakening demand for computers and digital appliances, the Nihon Keizai newspaper reported Wednesday. The three are Fujitusu's only factories that make the latest system chips and logic semiconductors, which means Fujitsu will halt the production of all semiconductors other than memory chips.
