1. Again I ask, would you argue against the use of nuclear weapons as extreme and barbaric if they were used against us? I grant you that, being on the victorious side, and avoiding any invasion casualties, we have the privilege of being able to argue as to whether we could have achieved the same ends with less. However, if the tables had been turned, or if our enemy (as alleged in the current case) has in their possession some type of NBC weapons, and they used them against us, would you maintain your argument, and oppose our use of the same weapons as extreme and barbaric? If so, then you may be in the (respectful) pacifist camp. If not, then your position makes little military or political sense -- it is but a hope that if we observe restrain, they will as well, but the only example we have shows that they will use whatever will work against us, regardless of casualties, or whether their methods are extreme or barbaric.

2. I agree, which supports my point that it is not about America or our values. The guy is just a nut, an intelligent nut, armed with money and weapons.
