Not possible to call, IMO.

From my experience at ABC, I think advertising in general should show solid gains by CQ2, 2002. How that translates to Web advertising is anyones guess, because for mainstream advertisers the Web isn't mission critical like network television.

Then there's the "lab" factor. It doesn't take much to fund a Web advertising schedule, and the online community has become flexible with an increasing mix of layouts and medis types. For years advertisers dabbled in cable before it proved valuable, finding which models proved to be best practices.

Personally I think of Yahoo as an advertising medium. Always have. Users think of Yahoo as a free resource too. I doubt Yahoo will morph meaningfully away from advertising.
