I just click a button and see if they allow me to sell the stock. It's up to Datek to sort out that stuff. As I said here there is paperwork to go through to set up a short in Aussie stocks on the Aussie market, I can';t just phone the broker and do it and certainly can't do it online.

But with your offshore shorting what happens at settlement? They need to supply the stock.

From my understanding insiders can short against the box on 144 from offshore but you can;t use it in America till the legend is removed.

Would that mean they are borrowing stock from themselves and shorting it? If so you shouldn't have a problem with that as they gave themselves permission :) !
