i agree, the naz wont move far without the sox going along, napm numbers were nice surprise, but i have a hard time seeing short term catalyst for market other than bombs dropping or fiscal stimulus, vs repeated warnings with downgrades for 4th quarter coming too, longer term, economy is going to come through, short term, we are in the "choppy,trading, season"
(and you seem to have a pretty good handle on that), i will buy longer term positions after 10-19
