The fact of the matter is that Iomega has been flat out kicking butt !!.

Imation and SyQuest won't have too many chances left.
These boys ought to get something going and frankly
I'm surprised that they haven't been throwing more at Iomega.

These are a few competitive expectations that I have.

More channel promotions,
I received an offer from SyQuest today, special pricing for
demo units at reduced prices limit one per location EZFlyer and Jet.
We'll see more of this, possibly some from Imation.

Look for pricing pressures to force advertising of stripped, basic
systems These will be loooow margin and the guys are going
to be pushing add-ons such as Zip, scanners etc in hopes of
improving margins. The advent of the so called NET-PC is
somewhat of an instigator.

Can't help but think that Imation doesn't have more coming. These
guys got beat real bad with at least one primary investor group publically scolding them.
They are going to try to redeem themselves, and I think
we'll see their advertisers and supporters jumping in with more of everything that say's that the LS-120 is better.

This third and fourth quarters seem to me to be defining.
With all of the above we should see the Zip $99.00 market killer, even though Inventories can't support it at the present, perhaps
in the fourth quarter.

A quick note on wholesale inventories, they are still low.
I'm seeing improvement but no sign of any buildup.
I read this as very bullish, to me it means that the OEMs are consuming supply. The many retail inventory checks have not indicated lost sales as where one store would be out another would be in.

FWIW
