"Where are you getting your "trillions of dollars" figure?" The same place Ray is getting his information. I suspect we will, and should, spend some billions or even 10s of billions on researching SDI. A lot of the research will pay off in other areas, so it isn't any big deal. As stated before, I am dubious about implementation, but the research is fine.
