Win and Thread, I don't think SI should ban people. People are entitled to their expression of opinion.

The banning process also appears to be confusingly random because the rules aren't clear.

I didn't see Tim May's post that was deleted, so I don't know how offensive it was, but a reply post contained a partial copy of Tim's deleted post and it showed it had the F-word in it.

Why is "idi*t" apparently okay to use, but not the F-word? I think the former is worse than the later and I think calling Win, Winnie, is worse than saying the F-word. But even then, I don't think a person should get banned. They should request a person to stop and people should respect it.

It also appears SI arbitrarily jumps in. I'm not saying SI is arbitrarily, but I am saying that SI may give the incorrect impression of being arbitrary, only because the rules are not clear.

People are entitled to their expression of opinion, so should not be banned.
