that probably depends on how quickly the current rally reverses course and how deep the losses get. a retest of the recent lows that is successful would likely result in a medium term (read: several weeks/months) rally.
if otoh the current rally extends a lot more, similar to the ramp off the late March low, i'd expect a plunge below the '98 lows after it exhausts itself.
as things stand, the market is already discounting the best of all possible outcomes, thereby creating a widening gulf with reality.
