Is it relevant whether or not an analyst of history does or does not believe in God? I think it is. If you are a devout Christian then you accept the Old Testament which clearly gives the borders of the country of Israel. Not only are these borders given but the aid of the Lord is promised in wiping out any tribes which are there. The names of the seven tribes are given in Deuteronomy. I guess that means that the Arabs have no business there even though they lived there for the last 1500 years. If you, like me, are an atheist, you think the bible is a bunch of fairy tales. I put it to this thread that the U.S. foreign policy with respect to Israel seems to be following the Old Testament so maybe we have to start there? Is it or not the word of God? Does a loving omnipotent God exist?
How's that for offending people?
Of course I don't want to offend people, what fun is that. I'm just crying for sanity. The crying includes both meanings. I'd like Bin Ladem dead and no more World Trade massacres. The wrong foreign policy won't get us there.
