But I think it is preferable that other nations help shoulder the burden, cooperatively, at least a quadrilateral Pax, consisting of the US, EEU, Russia and China,

And the US should lay the framework of its foreign policy and not veer from it for some short term gain.

That policy should indicate the conditions under which the US would get involved, the causes and whom or what type of Govt. they would support. And I hope they DO NOT support dictators, kings (even for cheap oil), terrorists (even to rout our potential enemies such as Russia and China) and other such extremists. The policy should not favor one nation over another just because the wother nation such was Pakistan is willing to provide military bases while India refused (in the past). Also a terrorist act anywhere should be considered a threat to everyone and acted upon and not only when the terrorist act comes and hits the US in its homeland.

And conversely they would nurture and support Democracies, even corrupt ones because they will be thrown out eventually by the people, and self rule in all areas of the world.

With these guidelines clearly established and known to the world, I think the US will be viewed positively and the hatred for Americans and America, which is viewed as flexing its muscle for its own selfish gains, diminish.
