Well there is no experimental design because we just look at historical data.... in this case time series of climate and malaria cases, in others economic data. I don't know any of those stats stuff they do in psych apart from factor analysis :)

Here we are testing time series to see if they really have a trend in or not. That depends on the properties of the time series - i.e. are they a random walk (like stock prices over large segments of data at least) or stationary.

I hated stats or econometrics classes but love actually doing the stuff.
