Really, if you came here and had to drive on the island for a week in summer I suspect you would change your opinions about cyclists, too.
Problem is these bicycle tour groups that charge mucho bucks to bring scads of cyclists some of whom haven't bveen on a bike for years over to the "friendly San Juans" for a bicycle tour and don't warn them that we have dangerous, hilly, winding roads with minimal shoulders, and drivers who are out of patience with dealing with these dummies day after day.
I mean, who would think it was okay to have 30 cyclists on the West Side Highway in New York, or the Beltway in DC, or the Santa Monica Freeway? These roads are our freeways -- our commuting routes. When the day ends, I want to get home, and I don't want a string of inexperienced, untrained cyclists between me and dinner. <bg>
