Controversial thoughts:
I will try to put this delicately. I am having grave concerns over what I am hearing and seeing from the leadership in this country and the response from the religious leaders in America and the liberal AND conservative government officials, media heads, corporate leaders, etc. We hear praise for our leader's strong and true faith. No one doubts the sincerity. Yet, I see praise for Islam coming out of the same mouths. I hear shouts of American pride and patriotism and American GOOD, yet nothing about repentance or any wrong-doing. "We are right and good, and they are bad and evil." I see signs everywhere that say "God and America will win"; "God bless America": "America and God will prevail". But at the same time I see God being stricken from our children's textbooks, prayer being outlawed, the ten commandments being removed from public buildings, manger scenes being taken down, God being mocked in our media and in our schools of higher learning. Cries to God in tough times are plenty now, yet we have no use for Him otherwise? I hear our leaders say we must declare war on terrorists, while telling Israel they must negotiate with an evil terrorist named Arafat. I see the Catholic Church, the United Nations, the World Council of Churches and others cry for peace and getting along, and ALL of these also cry that Israel has no right to their land and should give parts away "for peace". If our leaders and these organizations are so true in their faith and so knowledgeable, they would know God's stance on this issue. They DO in fact know, and that is what's scary. I see our religious leaders cry for peace and justice on the evil-doers, while they ordain homosexuals, and rewrite their doctrines to say there are many way to get to Heaven, and the Bible does in fact have many "stories" and errors. I hear Colin Powell profess godly things while publicly recognizing a gay partner of someone being honored just as he would acknowledge someone's spouse. I hear Bush say, "my faith is strong and true", and then complement Islam as a wonderful religion. Shocking news in the NY Times reveals this:
"WASHINGTON, Oct. 1 — Before the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, the Bush administration was on the verge of announcing a Middle East diplomatic initiative that would include United States support for the creation of a Palestinian state, administration officials said, and it is now weighing how to revive the plan."
God is very clear on Israel's covenant land. I again, fear that perhaps potential decisions like this one almost made by the current Administration have made God only step back a little in His protection of America which has allowed something like the Sept. 11 event to take place for the first time in America's history. The fact that the country is still heading directions which are contrary to God's teachings while much of the Administration are professing "Christians" is VERY disturbing. I certainly am not ready to be conspiratorial on this yet, but I can see many implications in a misleading of the people which would not have been possible under Clinton. Think about this. America seems to be on a course of pride and not repentance. You only have to look at history to see where this path leads. America better wake up if the time is to be extended before the evil one comes. "The very elect might be deceived" is beginning to make sense if you are watching what is happening around you. Don't be lulled to sleep.
