Studs Terkel interviewed on cbc radio, just ended ... 'i felt like i was a blue-haired dowager' on being disappointed in not finding his name in the 1950s blacklist, 'you could tell they thought only newyorkers counted' -g- ... 'me and Richard Nixon, we were neo-cartesians - "i tape, therefore i am" ' - on his habit of tape-recording everything ... interviewer got in maybe three short questions and he took off on telling the stories of people he'd interviewed fifty years ago, not one redundant word and i felt like i was there in the first-hand scenario, main one was of an ex-klan leader who through getting involved with a school board ended up marrying a fellow board member, a black woman ... talked about Mahalia Jackson and how she stood up for him when he wouldn't sign some macarthyite form ... almost ninety now, quite a guy eh ... i never think of Chicago without him in the picture

A rant here brought on by the silly bint ralfph mentions - #reply-16448595 - guy's a great writer always and makes some points here, but lumps several millions of 'the boomers' together on the same -wing ... goes to show - there's two kinds of people in the world, those who divide humanity into two groups, and those who know better -g-
